The National Disability Insurance Scheme, NDIS, is a federal government program designed to provide funding and support for children and adults with disabilities.
We provide early intervention supports and also support adult participants with communication challenges.
We also provide services to children and adults with disabilities in care arrangements, including aged care and out of home care. If you want to access any of our services, please provide your case manager with our details so that they can contact us to complete a referral.
The Therapy Point provides services for children and adults with disabilities covered by third party insurance, including comprehensive, third party (CTP) and workers compensation.
Please let us know if you have any third party insurance when booking an appointment, so we can prepare the correct paperwork to support your claim.
Therapy Point is registered with several private health covers. If you are not eligible for government funding, you might access funding assistance through your private health fund. The coverage and payment amount totally depend on the policy you choose to wait periods and other conditions.
The private health insurance may cover allied health services like speech pathology, assessments, and sessions under your extras policy.
If you want to use your private health insurance, please contact your health fund directly to confirm your eligibility.
We are a registered Medicare provider, and your child might be eligible for partial reimbursements for occupational therapy services. A referral from your GP is required.
Funding can also be accessed through Medicare, which offers a wide range of programs for children and adults with disabilities. These programs help to contribute to sessions for assessment, therapy, and communication challenges treatment.
These programs include:
Helping Children with Autism (HCWA),
Better Start for Children with Disability initiative,
Chronic Disease Management Plan,
Medicare Follow-Up Allied Health Services for People of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Descent
Eligible children diagnosed with Down syndrome, Fragile X Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, or moderate or greater vision or hearing impairment, including deafblindness, can access funding and new Medicare items under Better Start for Children with Disability (Better Start) initiative.
The initiative includes:
